Svolgi are small Bird Wyverns that live in volcanic regions and are younger forms of the Great Svolgi.
Physiology[]
Svolgi are Raptor-like Bird Wyverns similar to Jaggi, with small lean bodies, they are a muted red in colour, with a darker grey underside, the scales on its body are much larger and rougher than a Jaggis and form a tough shell like ridge on the monsters back. Its head is more wedge like than a jaggis with two small horns at the back of the skull. Svolgis most distinctive feature is its bristles which are black in colour and form in two patches, one at the shoulders and another below the tail. A Svolgis shoulder bristles havent matured and are still quite soft but the tail bristles are stiff and able to be used as a weapon.
Behaviour[]
Much like other small bird wyverns, Svolgi are very territorial and will attack intruders to their nest and on their hunting grounds, scratching their tails across the ground to create sparks as a warning before attacking. When undisturbed the Svolgi spend a lot of time sleeping in their nest, which is possible as their nests are usually hidden in crevices where the regions other monsters cant access, they also groom themselves a lot in order to remove congealed fluid from their bristles, smaller Svolgi can sometimes be seen grooming Great Svolgi as a sign of respect for their leader.

Svolgi are only able to use their fire to attack once, as after attacking the flammable oils are depleted preventing any fire based attacks, when depleted the bristles will change colour from a dark blue black to a much lighter grey colour, svolgi also become more timid without this defence and will often flee.
Svolgi will try to ward of threats by scraping their bristles across the ground causing them to spark, moving away while they are doing this will usually calm them down, and they wont attack.
Fire pods can be used to ignite a Svolgis tail which will leave it without its fire attacks and deal a small amount of damage.

Placement in Food Chain[]
Svolgi sit low on the food chain, mostly feeding on smaller endemic life and sometimes konchu, If a Great Svolgi has made a kill, the smaller Svolgi will eat some along with it. They often fall prey to larger monsters such as Alaethiana or Agnaktor so stay away from the hotter regions where these monsters spend most of their time.
Behaviour Towards Other Monsters[]
Svolgi generally avoid confrontation with larger monsters but will join their leader in attacks on some monsters such as Dodogama or Basarios, they will however attack smaller creatures such as Rhenoplos and Konchu.

Svolgi can sometimes be seen Grooming a Great Svolgi and can often be seen sleeping in their nest.
Abilities[]
Svolgi Secrete a flammable oil from their tails and backs which saturates the bristles in those areas, it can then scrape the bristles along the ground causing sparks which then ignite the oil causing a small wave of fire, They also use these sparks as a warning to predators.
Attacks[]
- Bark: Svolgi will bark much like a Jaggi but with a much harsher hissing noise.
- Warning Sparks: Svolgi will scrape its tail along the ground creating sparks as a warning to predators.
- Bite: Svolgi will bite similar to how a Jaggi Bites.
- Charge: Svolgi will charge at a hunter, pushing them over with its head.
- Tail Swipe: Svolgi will scrape its tail along the ground in a circle, creating a wave of fire as it does so.
- Failed Tail Swipe: As above but as there is no oil on its tail, there is no fire only a few sparks.
