Name Icon About
Fire Fire Fire (Japanese 火) is a common element found in the world. Many species of wyverns are imbued with it. Using Flame Sacs or other flammable materials, hunters can forge weapons with fire element, as well as armor.Being hit by a fire attributed attack (like a Rathalos's fire blast, or an Agnaktor's fire beam) inflicts a secondary effect called Fireblight, which slowly lowers the red part of the health bar before reducing the green section of health. This can be removed by rolling three times, or just once into water

Irregular Elements[]

Note: Irregular Elements are a collection of elements that are irregular within the roster of the standard elements the games have always been familiar with, there are generally multiple aspects about Irregular Elements:

1: They're much rarer in weapon trees and used by monsters that are also rarer (these kind of monsters mostly only appear through endgame or at-least post-story).

2: Most of these are a hybridization of the standard elements that apply the effects of all the standard elements that is mixed to form the irregular element.

3: They all have very distinct and unique blight effects that are generally far more devastating than the average fireblight or thunderblight.

Name Icon About
Poison Status Poison Poison (Japanese 毒) is a common status effect that causes a gradual loss of health over a period of time. Once the Poison has worn off, the red portion of the health bar will recover slowly. Depending on the monster and the rank of the quest, the Poison can drain the health bar at a faster rate than normal. The duration of Poison can be increased, decreased, or negated altogether with an appropriate skill. Poison is indicated visually by purple bubbles emitted by the victim. Methods of remedy are Antidotes, Bitterbugs (50%), Antidote Herbs (50%), Herbal Medicines or waiting it out.

Paralysis Status Paralysis Paralysis (Japanese 麻痺) is a dreaded status effect that completely immobilizes for a certain period of time, leaving the victim helpless. Upon being Paralyzed, the Hunter will fall down on their face (or remain motionless in an arched position underwater) and yellow sparks of lightning will be seen passing through their body. The duration of Paralysis can be increased, decreased, or negated altogether with an appropriate skill. There is nothing a Hunter can do but to wait for the Paralysis to wear off or for certain attacks to send them flying. This status effect had been previously known as "Stun" in the early Monster Hunter games, but has recently been referred to as "Paralysis" to better differentiate it from the ailment caused by Flash Bombs and Impact-type attacks. Methods of remedy are attacks that cause knockback or waiting it out.

However, damage taken when asleep is greatly increased and will end the status after one hit. The duration of Sleep can be increased, decreased, or negated altogether with an appropriate skill. One does not immediately fall asleep when Sleep is inflicted. Instead, the Hunter will become drowsy allowing an Energy Drink to be used if the player is fast enough, negating the effect before falling asleep. Any non-Sleep inducing monster attack will wake up the Hunter again, and also those from fellow Hunters or Felyne/Shakalaka comrades. Leaving the area also appears to rid the Hunter of the status, but it's uncommon to receive this whilst close enough to an exit. Method of remedy are getting hit once (by monster or comrade), Energy Drinks or waiting it out.

The visual indication is a ring of yellow stars spinning above the affected target's head. All monsters can inflict Stun by means of repeated physical attacks, but some can inflict it immediately by emitting an extremely bright flash of light, or another special technique. When a monster is inflicted with it by use of a Flash Bomb, it attacks randomly until the effect wears off and if inflicted by repeated Impact-type attacks (such as Hammer or Hunting Horn), the monster is completely immobilized for a short while. If a Flash Bomb is used then the monster is KO'd by an Impact hit, more stars circle around its head than normal but the effect duration is the same. The duration of the stun can be increased, decreased, or negated altogether with an appropriate skill. By rotating the analog stick used for movement in a circular motion and tapping the evasion button, the player can snap out of it on their own. Method of remedy is repeatedly rotating the left analog stick.

Physical Effects[]

Tremors: When monsters either stomp the ground or cause some kind of physical ground effect, hunters will be affected by the impact from the tremors caused by the effect with the hunter spinning around awkwardly for a few seconds; leaving them vulnerable. Although rare, there are some environmental effects that also cause Tremors such as falling boulders.

Supreme Tremors: An enhanced version of Tremors where the hunter is sent almost flying into the air from the attacks tremors; the hunter is left vulnerable for a longer period of time than standard Tremors. (This is based on the same enhanced Tremors effect in Frontier)

Roars: Most monsters roar so loud that hunters will cover ears as the sound-waves from the roar hits their ears; this generally leaves hunters vulnerable to attacks as they're recovering from the roar.

Supreme Roars: Very few monsters will have roars that are so loud that hunters will drop to their knees as they cover their ears to protect their eardrums from the loud roar; this leaves hunters more vulnerable to attacks than standard Roars. (This is based on the same enhanced Roar effect in Frontier)

Slipperiness: An uncommon effect caused by the aftermath of the Frostbind status. When the ground is slippery, the hunter has to be very careful not to sprint, otherwise the hunter will repeatedly slip and slide akin to the effects of Bubbleblight. It is important to note that repeatedly sprinting through slippery terrain will result in the hunter falling to the floor and taking minimal damage from the fall.

Temperature: A relatively common effect that is mostly dependent on the temperature of the surrounding environment, an example would be the open dunes sections of the Searing Dunes during the day or the lava sections of the Magma Belt requiring Cool Drinks to deal with the heat or utilizing Hot Drinks for the cold caves of the Ruined Wetlands and the frigid sections of the Sacred Shores.

Unlike in Monster Hunter Rise, it is now possible to inflict elemental blights on monsters with elemental weapons although this requires a minimum threshold of 500 of the element on the weapon in order for there to be a chance to apply the fore-mentioned effects. Note: Some monsters are immune to various element effects.

Elements

Fire Applies a 'burning' effect upon the monster that rapidly drains their health.
Water Applies a 'drenching' effect that softens the breakable parts on a monster which makes that body part easier to break.

Thunder Applies a 'sparking' effect that makes the monster much more susceptible to stun.
Earth Applies a 'gruelling' effect that makes the monster much more susceptible to flinching.
Dragon Applies a unique effect where it temporarily eviscerates the elements in the monster's elemental attacks.

Ailments

Stun Knocks the monster down to the ground and leaves them vulnerable to attacks as they struggle to get back up.
Poison Applies a 'poison' effect upon the monster that gradually drains their health.
Paralysis Applies an effect upon the monster that completely immobilizes them.
Sleep Applies a 'tranquilizing' effect upon the monster that puts them to sleep.

Corrosion Applies a 'corrosive' effect that softens all of the body parts on a monster which makes the body part much weaker to raw/non-elemental damage.

WIP

Expeditions return and function similarly to how they function in Monster Hunter World although they have been merged with investigations; meaning that the rewards normally acquired through investigations is now granted upon completing them in Expeditions. There is also a vast array of distinct features dedicated to each locale when visited on an Expedition compared to visits on standard quests.

WIP

Treasure Hunts have a rare phenomena known as 'Obscure Species' which are rare recolours of monsters that grant rewards upon photographing or hunting; some can also lead the player to special treasure they wouldn't find normally.

Note: Obscure Species are not counted as new/separate monsters as they do not offer any separate materials/carves nor any equipment and they act the exact same as their base counterparts.
