The Pyroclastic Fields are comprised of large fields of solidified magma, sometimes covered in moss. Geysers and lava eruptions are no rarity in this harsh environment. A huge cave system hidden beneath the rocks leads to the core of an active volcano.

General Description[]

Layout[]

Mossy Fields[]

A huge, flat area of cooled magma. Moss and small plants are the only real vegetation here, making it exceptionally hard for Herbivores to reside here, should they even stay. Geysers can be heard and seen in the distance, while sometimes lava will break through the surface.

Geyser Fields[]

Like the name already suggests, this field is studded with geysers of all sizes. Not many small animals survive an encounter with the boiling water, some exceptionally big geysers even having enough force to break through a monster's armor.

Volcanic Caves[]

Largest part of the area and home to many dangerous creatures. This part of the Pyroclastic Fields is only accessible via some openings in the rocky 'hide' of the area. Many large monsters like Rathalos or Gravios reside here, making this place even more dangerous than it already is. Large streams of lava flow through this cave system, sometimes even changing direction. The roof is very unstable, meaning hunters and monsters alike should watch out for sudden cave-ins.
