This is the list of Monster Hunter World Cataclysm's story quests in order. Each are G Rank only, and there will be a small list showing each unlocked monster not in the story. The monsters unlocked that come with a cutscene will be maker with a *. Certain quests will be completed in rounds and will be titled, with each round unlocking the next part in the story. There will also be five special assignments, with separate unlock requirements.
Hunters, your attention is needed immediately at the Ancient Forest. A Dalamadur just trampled through both it and Astera, and we need to find survivors. Please, make haste.
Notes:
-Unlocks the next stage in Cataclysm's story -The Hunter must escape from a Savage Deviljho in the area. This is mandatory, as it is a G-Rank version of the monster, and thus is too difficult for the player at this time.
While we get set up 'ere, we need to scout out the area for more building materials. Hunters, it's yer job to go and make sure there are no nasty critters out there to threaten us. We've had enough of that for now.
Notes:
-Unlocks the next stage in Cataclysm's story -Unlocks the Glimmering Isles as a locale. -Unlocks 3 star and below quests in the Glimmering Isles and Ancient Forest, as well as the urgent 4 star quest in Cataclysm's story -Upon sighting the Seltas, it will fly away immediately, triggering some dialogue from the Handler and Field Team Leader, and will end the quest.
So sorry Hunters, but it seems that this Dalamadur trouble stems back a little further than we thought. I don't know it we missed it but... it's been through the Hoarfrost Reach already, and barely missed those still in Seliana.
Looks like the Dalamadur has been through the Wildspire Waste, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. We need to check the area in case the monsters have become too disturbed by its presense, though beware as they could be violent.
Hunter !!! Perfect timing. There's been a ruckus in the Caverns of El Dorado, thanks to Dalamadur passing through. If there's something new in those Caverns, I wanna know. So go !!!
Dalamadur has been sighted climbing down the Rotten Vale now, from the Coral Highlands first. Be on guard, as there have been sightings of two particularly cranky monsters after Dalamadur's arrival.
We're coming close to wrangling the Dalamadur, but there's been a Najarala sighting close to Lagura. We need to ensure that nothing can get in our way. Besides, it should make for good practice against the larger serpent.

Urgent Assignment: A Poisonous Crime Scene_____ LV G★★★★
There's a dead Anjanath covered in poison in the Glimmering Isles but... it's nearly been torn to shreds... We need to investigate this properly, there have been reports of some strange triangular shape in the swamps, as well as a larger Mantinoma on the beaches. We need to ensure our safety when it coems to our task, so please take care of whatever is out there !

When looking for tracks I smelt something awful, and discovered some foul-smelling feathers. Something's around here and judging from the smell its not a vegitarian, and could make for a problem.

In the Caverns of El Dorado, I've spotted some odd tracks, lined with chunks of gold. there are strands of strong webbing between the chunks as well. Go and find out what this is.

On my quest for tracks, I found a big monster, something with large claws and a tail, though I didn't get a close look. I know for a fact that it's dangerous, and on high alert, so take precautions.

So, the Bercrinox... that name gives me the chills. We need to gather more info, so off to the Wildspire Wastes you go. Take care however, something trampled all over our team of hunters out there. Almost like something wasn't a fan of the competition... or protected the herbivores from them.

A Banbaro has been hurt, looks like a scuffle due to high tensions. It wasn't a predator that's for sure, otherwise there would be bites taken out, and this Banbaro's still alive to boot. It might not be fore long however, as there's definitely something else out there with it.

Hunters, we've received a report of massive footprints in the Ancient Forest, as well as a head being spotted by the Grimalkynes in the trees. I'm damn sure that those two things aren't a coincidence, so get to investigating.

A Teostra has popped up in the Elder's Recess, much stronger than before, with very different flames. Keep your wits about you hunter, I know you've faced a beast like this before, but it will surely be a different beast altogether.
You hear that ? Wind's howling. All through the leaves of the Ancient Forest. I know you've hunted Kushala Daora before, but this one's worse, much worse. Good luck out there hunter, you'll need it.
THis Chameleos we saw is much more adept at hiding in the shadows, and I'll be damned if they weren't good at that already. You've taken down Elder Dragons before I hear, but this one could be much worse, so pay attention to your surroundings.
I was walking around the Waste right, when I saw a huge boulder, and I wanted to climb it to look around for the dragon we were warned about. When I went to do it though, it moved ! I was so startled that I fell over and it snorted, almost like laughter... I want to see you hunt it !
Time to look into the source of this rampant plant growth, as it still hasn't slowed down. Something in the Ancient Forest is causing it, and we need to figure out exactly what.
See that Hunters ? I just knew she'd return once again, all over those caverns while strutting her stuff about. Let's do it like the good ol' days and bring her ego crashing down to earth, shall we ?

The New World must be a beacon for these powerful Elder Dragons, eh Hunters ? I've fought only Black Dragon one in my time, and this is just as strong. The Shah Dalamadur, an Elder Dragon so monstrous that all look like mere insects before it. Be very careful of its terrifying abilities Hunters.

Just when one Black Dragon-level threat wasn't enough, here comes two more... One is a Dire Miralis. You'll need to pull out all the stops for this one Hunter, and to aid with that we've set up all manner of cannons to aid you. You'll need them.

Just when one Black Dragon-level threat wasn't enough, here comes two more... One is a White Fatalis. You'll need to pull out all the stops for this one Hunter, and to aid with that we've re-bolstered Catle Schrade's old defences. You'll need them.

-Unlocks White Fatalis to hunt -Completes the End of the World Title Update when completed alongside the quest for Dire Miralis.
A special cutscene plays, akin to credits, where your hunter is given a trophy made from the horns of the White Fatalis and Dire Miralis for their abode, and a massive feast is held in their honour.
Crossover 1: Devil May Cry 5[]
Can be started and completed after Cataclysm's story and before any Special Assignments, though not before hunting a Gore Magala in Title Update 1.

Seems there's a particularly devilish Acrid Yian Garuga in the Sunken Catacombs. There were reports of a strangely dressed individual nearby, so we need to be on the lookout for them.

A cutscene plays after the Tempered Acrid Yian Garuga is beaten, where the Devil Hunter Nero is seen clapping at the Hunter's victory, telling of a powerful threat that he has been tracking. He comes along to Lagura with the Hunter and fills out a quest for them, claiming he "Wants a good show".

So then, Hunter, I'd like a good show outta this one, how about it huh ? This guy's been a real pain after I beat him the first time so beating him would also be a great favour, ya get me ?

A cutscene plays after the Tempered Seething Bazelgeuse is beaten, where the Onion Knight reveals himself as Siegward of Catarina, who congratulates the Hunter on a good fight, before the Handler, Field Team Leader and Aiden all come to tell them of a powerful precense in the Elder's Recess, to which Siegward gravely states that is must be "The Fel Beast I had the misfortune of being summoned with", and they all take off to deal with the threat.
Special Assignment: The Devourer of Darkness_____ LV G★★★★★★★
Aha !!! I was correct, look in there !!! That dragon is huge !!! You will need all of your might to take that beast down, along with the favour of the Gods. That beast has eaten so much of the Abyss that it is tainted with the stuff, so pay heed to its breath !!!

-Siegward of Catarina joins you in this quest, wielding his signature Zweihander and Pierce Shield, and once Midir goes into Abyssal Mode, wields Stormruler's ability twice before switching back to his original weapons. -Unlocks Darkeater Midir to fight solo. -Completes the Dark Souls 3 Crossover when finished.
Crossover 3: Berserk[]
Can be started and completed after Cataclysm's story and before any Special Assignments, though the Guiding Lands's Sunken Catacombs area must be unlocked, and a Grim Diablos must have been hunted.
Special Assignment: Follower of Darkness_____ LV G★★★★★★
Hunters, your attention please. In the Sunken Catacombs a Grim Diablos has been spotted, but it has been injured by something large. It looked like a massive, yet clean cut, so be wary of it being more ferocious than usual, and even moreso of anything else down there.

A cutscene plays after the Tempered Grim Diablos is beaten, where the Hunter continues looking around the Sunken Catacombs, only to find a swordsman wielding a massive blade cutting down a particularly large Skollfús, before turning to face you. After the Hunetr dodges a strike from the stanger's sword, they realise you are human and relax, before revealing themselves as Guts, the Black Swordsman, and he tells of an "Apostle" that he is after, and tells of its danger, but that the Hunter would be welcome, if they do not fear death... and do not get in his way.
