Cerulean Fatalis is a mythical 'true' subspecies of the Fatalis that has been documented to have caused a cataclysmic blizzard that froze over an entire volcano; the frigid skeletons and frozen sculptures of volcanic monsters are all that remains of the former netherscape.

Physiology[]

Cerulean Fatalis retains an indigo, cerulean and violet mix of colours all through its body while its wing webbings retains light-green patches mixed with other patterns that make the wing membrane resemble auroras. Its back-spikes are far pointer and are a fuchsia colour with the tip ending off on a bright vibrant pink while its eyes are glistening emerald colour that changes to bright purple when the elder dragon is agitated.

Behavior[]

Despite its vivid and lustrous appearance, Cerulean Fatalis is just as dangerous as its counterparts with a lethal frigid breathe that can turn any living thing into solid ice. According to reports, Cerueal Fatalis is seemingly far less active than its predecessors although this could be due to its powerful influence over sleep.

Role in the Food Chain[]

Main Prey: Anything caught in its blizzards

Arch-Rivals: Crimson Fatalis

Behavior Towards Other Monsters[]

N/A

Tracks[]

Tracks: Frigidphantom prints, Auroral miasma, Frigid sculpture

Specific Locale Interactions[]

  • When fought in the Everlands, it is a repel-only quest that is dedicated to unlocking the true quest to repel/slay the elder dragon.

Abilities[]

Cerulean Fatalis utilizes the ice element and can unleash it as projectiles and beams but also unleash frosty mist that force ice pillars to emerge from the ground along with circular hailstorm orbs that emit a lethal blizzard across the surrounding area when they crash into solid ground. Cerulean Fatalis can also emit a less-erratic version of this 'blizzard orb' that freezes living things over a period of time instead of instantly which can prove to be extremely lethal when combined with the elder dragons tranquilizing miasma that can force an entire island into the last nap of their lives.

Rage and Tired States[]

  • Rage State: Its emerald eyes will shine a bright purple, its breathe will emit a cyan smoke and the aurora-shaped patterns on its wings will start glowing.
  • Tired State: None

Mounts[]

The hunter mounts Cerulean Fatalis the same as they mount any other Fatalis species.

Ecology[]

Habitat Range[]

The native home of Cerulean Fatalis is not known although it can be confirmed that they're not of Minegarde-origin. Sightings in the Everlands has occured but no data on this.

Ecological Niche[]

Just like the Fatalis species, the food chain placement of Cerulean Fatalis seems to be above the normal circle of life as its apocalyptic blizzards can eviscerate any and all competiton. Its unknown if this species gets in tussles with Malakuma like the black species.

Biological Adaptations[]

The mere presence of a Cerulean Fatalis can drastically decrease the temperature of a surrounding region and envelop entire ecosystems in deadly blizzards, avalanches and even hailstorms with the dragons thick scales protecting it from the impact of these projectiles. Data on Ceruleans biological adaptations is very limited although its said that the amount of frost it emits just from its body alone can eviscerate flames or even lava before touching the actual dragon itself; allowing the tempest dragon to turn firey wastelands into lifeless frigid ones. It also seems this species of Fatalis has the ability to outright control the weather with it able to distort and cause the coriolis effect; summoning supercells, tornadoes and cyclones that it can combine with its blizzards for devastating effect.

Attacks[]

Note: The basic physical attacks that all the Fatalis species have won't be mentioned here as its expected.

Phase 1[]

Triple Tail Slam: While on all fours, Cerulean Fatalis can slam its tail multiple times in a row with the other two times slamming in different directions.

Frigid Ball: Instead of a fireball; Cerulean Fatalis will unleash frigid balls of ice that inflicts Iceblight.

Triple Frigid Ball: Instead of a fireball; Cerulean Fatalis will unleash multiple frigid balls of ice that inflicts Iceblight.

Frigid Beam: Instead of a beam of fire; Cerulean Fatalis will unleash a glacial beam of ice that inflicts Iceblight.

Standing Frigid Blast: While on two legs, Instead of a surge of fire; Cerulean Fatalis will unleash a frigid surge of frost that inflicts Iceblight.

Icicle Cone: Instead of a blazing cone of flames; Cerulean Fatalis will unleash a brisk cone of frost that not only zaps away at your health but also drains your stamina.

Emerging Frigid Pillars: Cerulean Fatalis will roar into the skies in a similar fashion to Crimson Fatalis's meteor summon animation; this will result in up to six ice pillars forcefully emerging from the ground which can send hunters flying. Inflicts Iceblight.

Blizzard Triple Wing Flap: Cerulean Fatalis will flap its wings multiple times which unleashes an orb-shaped blizzard projectile that causes an ice explosion AOE when it hits the ground. Inflicts Iceblight.

Tranquil Wing Flap: Cerulean Fatalis rear itself on front of the targeted hunter and then flap both its wings to unleash a cloud of miasma that travels frontally; Cerulean Fatalis will also sometimes jump onto the position of the mist which sends smaller scatters of the miasma in multiple directions. Inflicts Sleep.

Frigid Cave-In: When enough damage has been dealt, Cerulean Fatalis will fly extremely high into the pinnacle of the chasm and then roar before then forming a colossal-sized tornado that vacuums in hunters; after several seconds, this tornado will form and shred apart the surrounding area and the cavern ceiling; flattening and enlargening the area for phase 2 to begin along with leaving a massive gaping hole in the ceiling where storm clouds, blizzards and an aurora are visible in the sky. The tornado can be avoided simply by getting at the furthest borders of the area or superman-diving when the tornado forms and sends large ice chunks all across the area.

Note: The attack above is only performed once and is the transition to Phase 2.

Phase 2[]

Dragon Element Claw Swipe: Cerulean Fatalis will rear itself upwards a slight bit before doing an additionally powerful claw slam that unleashes a surge of dragon element in a medium-sized AOE. Inflicts Dragonblight.

Dragon Element Icicle Cone: Cerulean Fatalis's Icicle Cone attack can now mix with the dragon element and unleash dragon-elemental strikes that can hit outside of the AOE of the cone itself. Inflicts Dragonblight.

Dragon Element Pillar Strike: The Emerging Frigid Pillars can now have dragon element strike them which causes an AOE explosion of dragon-element; often the dragon-strike will also strike another pillar that is closest to the pillar. Inflicts Dragonblight.

Frigid Spinning Beam: This is the exact same as Fatalis's 360 flamethrower spin attack except Cerulean Fatalis unleashes a frigid beam of frost.

Tranquil Blizzard Blast: Cerulean Fatalis will flap both of its wings as it bends its neck/head to both sides while sucking in air which vacuums in nearby hunters before it then unleashes a blast of frost and tranquilizing miasma that inflicts both Iceblight and Sleep. This attack is mildly comparable to Abiorugu's tail-swing fireball blast combo.

Blizzard Supercell Beam: Cerulean Fatalis will unleash an Icicle Cone attack but then proceed to stand up while still unleashing the Icicle Cone which results in the beam transforming into a tornado-like shape that shoots out ice spikes everywhere while Cerulean Fatalis will sweep its neck/the beam 90 degrees to either the left or the right.

Blizzard Shield: Cerulean Fatalis can now roar and unveil a shield of frost and wind around it for up to 60 seconds; being in the radius of this Blizzard Shield will completely reverse the effects of Hot Drinks; making your stamina vulnerable.

Rain of Tempest Shards: When enough damage has been dealt, Cerulean Fatalis will roar and then quickly fly upwards into the air and out of the chasm before then landing onto a plateau and then summoning a colossal frigid cloud above the chasm; after several seconds, this cloud will rain down a lethal barrage of ice shards that shred through hunters HP until its down to zero (this is not survivable under any circumstances). The only way to avoid this attack is to run to the borders of the chasm; away from the exposed gaping hole which means that the ice shard rain will not hit you or your team-mates.

Note: The attack above is only performed once and is the transition to Phase 3.

Phase 3 (Both)[]

Frigid Tail Reaper Spin: Cerulean Fatalis on all fours now has the ability to rear its tail upwards and swinging it around for several seconds; ice will then form upon the tip and elongate double the length of the actual tail before Fatalis then rears itself to another side and slams the ice-clad tail onto another position and then sweeps its tail 180 degrees before instantly turning and sweeping it 180 degrees again with immense range although after the second sweep, the ice around its tail will shatter and return it back to its normal length.

Frigid Wall Fallout: Cerulean Fatalis will unleash a beam of ice onto either the far left or the far right side of the area borders while spinning its head to both sides which forms a large wall of miasma that eventually increases in height and then solidifies; Cerulean Fatalis will then slam its tail into the centre which causes the bottom segment of the ice wall to crack which results in the main structure falling on the opposite side of the map and flattening any hunters that couldn't escape the border between the ice wall and the safe zone (this attack can be avoided by blocking with Guard Up 2 or superman diving when the wall hits the ground). The wall breaks apart after hitting the ground.

Phase 3 (Wings Intact)[]

Note: If both wings are still intact, Cerulean Fatalis will be in permanent rage-mode from this point onwards and its ice-based attacks will now leave trails of themselves that slow down the hunters movements.

Another Note: If just one wing is broken, Cerulean Fatalis will only be able to inflict standard Sleep.

Hell Becomes Heatless: Cerulean Fatalis with only both wings intact will have this attack where it unleashes a barrage of ice miasma throughout the entire surrounding area before the hovering upwards and unleashing a beam of frost that then solidifies the miasma into solid ice; covering the entire area and instantly carting anyone caught in the entire radius of the bottom part of the area. The only way to avoid this attack is to reach the borders of the area and climb as high as possible to where the area-of-effect won't hit. Cerulean Fatalis can perform this attack multiple times in Phase 3 unless at-least one of its wings get broken.

Phantasm Rotunda Lullaby: Cerulean Fatalis with either both or only one wing intact will have this attack where it flaps its wings extremely hard while roaring and unleashing a hallow blizzard that covers the entire chasm (including the top section); this hallow blizzard will form several emerging ice pillars before then unleashing a colossal wave of tranquilizing miasma that scatters across the entire surrounding area which puts all unfortunate hunters caught in the effect to be inflicted with either Sleep (if one wing is broken) or Sound Asleep (if none of the wings are broken). Cerulean Fatalis will then hover into the chasm centre and then unleash a burst of frost that induces a 'chill' effect. Any hunters that are not behind the ice pillars will have their health completely zapped away; this will be the fate of the hunters caught by the sleep miasma although the hunters inflicted with standard Sleep will wake up earlier and have a slight chance of running to the ice pillars before they die; this can also be helped if the team-mates spam lifepowders and dusts of life. Cerulean Fatalis can perform this attack multiple times in Phase 3 unless both of its wings get broken.

Phase 3 (Wings Broken)[]

Note: If both wings are broken, Cerulean Fatalis completely loses its ability to inflict both Sleep and Sound Asleep).

Lustrous Coriolis: Cerulean Fatalis can perform an animation similar to the Frigid Cave-In attack except the tornado summoned is much smaller and doesn't vacuum in hunters but Cerulean Fatalis will now unleash a powerful wing flap that sends the tornado to split into three tornadoes with all three spinning across the area in a circular fashion before fading away after 10 seconds. Inflicts Iceblight.

Multi-Frigid Blast: Now when Cerulean Fatalis does the Triple Frigid Ball attack, it now unleashes multiple frigid projectiles each blast' resulting in a total of nine projectiles being unleashed. Inflicts Iceblight.

Azure Ring of Eternal Winter: Cerulean Fatalis now has a new ultimate attack where it will hover into the centre of the chasm area and roar as it flaps its wings and forms an orb-shaped blizzard around it; after several seconds, Cerulean Fatalis will fly out of the blizzard orb and then crash into the central ground of the chasm which forcibly uplifts ice pillars in all directions before Cerulean Fatalis then unleashes an upwards beam of frost in a 360 circle; this 'ring' of ice will orbit around the Cerulean Fatalis while the blizzard orb slowly falls to the ground; the ice ring will shoot out ice shards for this duration while Cerulean Fatalis will attack as normal; after a few seconds as the blizzard will crash down into the centre of the chasm in-between the ice ring and unleash a shockwave that breaks apart the ice ring and sends ice shards everywhere and also makes all the ice pillars fall onto the opposite size and break apart. The shockwave itself is almost a guaranteed OHKO unless you have 25+ Ice Resistance.

Notes[]

  • Unlike the other counterparts, Cerulean Fatalis is confirmed to be a 'true' subspecies of the Fatalis.
  • Its head can be broken twice along with its chest; the main break necessary however is both of its wings.
  • Cerulean Fatalis can be considered a tier higher than Crimson Fatalis.
  • There are two different third phases that is entirely dependant on whether the wings have been broken or not.
  • This is an adoption and overhaul of Tynyin Fatalis.
