Gariyatodus is of the same species as Jyuratodus that inhabits the Phantom Tropics in the New World.

Physiology[]

Its scales are constantly gleaming in a gold and turqoise body with a blue underbelly to match, its eye are a gleaming purple. Considered a beauty compared to other piscine wyverns that are either ugly or 'evil' looking.

Behavior[]

Unlike the Jyuratodus that targets herbivores and tackles the likes of Barroth, Gariyatodus targets fish and crabs, this can include smaller piscine wyverns and small carapaceons, this often puts it in conflicts with Daiymo Hermitaur as an arch-nemesis.

Abilities[]

A lot more reliance on agility rather than immobilising its opponents, it can shoot water balls, water beams alongside massive bursts of bubbles that it can slide amongst to do additional attacks. It can also produce a poisonous substance from its gills that spills across from behind and to the side of it.

Role in the Food Chain[]

Minimal - Extremely Low - Low - (Average) - High - Extremely High - Apex - Legend

Main Prey: Small fish, crabs

Arch-Rivals: Daiymo Hermitaur, Plesioth

Tracks: Bubble pile, Soapy prints

Ecology[]

Habitat Range[]

Found in tropical and moist regions such as the Enclave Jungle, the Phantom Tropics and the Eldritch Forest.

Ecological Niche[]

Fairly low in the food chain, prefers flight over fight, with the usage of bubbles and water to trip up foes and slither in a much more agile fashion than other piscine wyverns. Faces off against the likes of Great Gajau and Daiymo Hermitaur daily.

Biological Adaptations[]

Its thin and slender body allows it to swim at incredible speeds in freshwater lakes and sealine shores, its moist body allows it to maneaver across stacks of bubbles without tripping and with extreme agility.

In-Game Description[]

Gariyatodus
Gariyatodus Icon by TheElusiveOne The same species as the Jyuratodus that adapted to the tropical climates and jungle regions of the New World: replacing mud and stockiness with bubbles and agility.

Notes[]

  • It is meant to be the clean counterpart to the dirty Jyuratodus.
  • It is the only monster that is capable of manipulating the geysers in the Arid Jungle against the hunter.
  • It is not a subspecies of Jyuratodus.
