Normal Elements[]

Name Icon About
Fire Fire Fire (Japanese 火) is a common element found in the world. Many species of wyverns are imbued with it. Using Flame Sacs or other flammable materials, hunters can forge weapons with fire element, as well as armor.Being hit by a fire attributed attack (like an Alatreon's fire blast, or an Agnaktor's fire beam) inflicts a secondary effect called Fireblight, which slowly lowers the red part of the health bar before reducing the green section of health. This can be removed by rolling three times, or just once into water.
Water Water Water (Japanese 水) is an element that is extremely abundant in the world. Weapons and armor can be imbued with the element of water. Being hit by a water attributed attack will inflict Waterblight, which lowers the rate at which stamina recovers.
Ice Ice Ice (Japanese 氷) is an element that is found in the world. Every ice attributed attack induces Iceblight, which causes the hunter's Stamina to be depleted rapidly while sprinting or other similar actions. Some ice attacks may also inflict the Snowman status, which encases the hunter in a chunk of snow.
Thunder Thunder Thunder (Japanese 雷) is an element that is uncommonly found in the world. Being hit by a thunder attributed attack induces a status called Thunderblight, which causes hunters to become stunned more easily.
Dragon Dragon Dragon (Japanese 龍) is a special element in the sense that it can be devastating only to monsters that are dragons or have dragon lineage. As with other elements, the damage dealt varies with each monster. Dragon attacks dealt by monsters have the ability to inflict Dragonblight, it will drastically reduce a weapon's elemental attribute. It will also lower special ratings such as poison, paralysis, slime etc. Some Dragon elemental weapons are able to temporarily disable Elder Dragon special abilities.

Fanon Elements[]

Name Icon About
Earth Earth Earth Element (Japanese 土) as the name suggests, is based on earth being launched towards the target. When hit by a monster's Earth attack, players may experience Earthblight. It causes the hunter's weapon's sharpness to decrease and causes their attacks to bounce off from monsters more often.
Wind Wind The Wind Element (Japanese 風), as the name suggests, is based on air being shot towards the target. If hit, hunters may experience Windblight, and a twister-like icon will appear by their names. If Windblighted, the hunter will take recoil damage from most blocked attacks. If a hunter's Wind resistance is low enough, they will experience Severe Windblight instead, and two tornadoes will appear next to his/her name. This has the same effects as regular Windblight, but also any direct attack will send the hunter flying, leaving them open for further attacks. Windblight' effects will disappear after some time, and they can also be negated with a Nulberry. Wind Element can be transferred to a weapon. It has the same effects as any other element.
Nature Nature The Nature Element is made from plant-life and natural organisms, utilised by monsters that have a relation to plants and nature. Hunters hit by a Nature element attack gain Natureblight. When a hunter gains the Natureblight status, roots or vines will wrap around their bodies, slowing their movement and preventing them of pulling out their weapons or using items. It will also slowly drain their health, so Natureblight essentially acts as a combination of Muddy/Snowman and Poison. Severe Natureblight greatly slows movement down and drains their health at a faster rate, acting as a combination of Webbed/Tarred and Noxious Poison. To rid yourself of Natureblight, simply rotate the analog stick. Being hit by a fellow hunter or monster (preferably a hunter) will also free you from Natureblight. Nature Element can be transferred to a weapon. It has the same effects as any other element.
Aether Aether The Aether Element is a mysterious element that is considered the "holy" opposite to the Dragon element. Hunter's hit by an Aether element attack gain Aetherblight, a status that boosts a weapons elemental or ailment properties beyond the point of stability. The hunters weapon is engulfed in a white and creamy cloud effect that affects the wielder. When the hunter tries to attack using the weapon or just by holding it, they are affected by the elemental and ailment properties of it, making their own weapons a hazard to use. Elemental weapons inflict a corresponding blight on the hunter that cannot be cured by the normal means, and they will in addition cause the hunter to take elemental damage when they attack. Aether Element can be transferred to a weapon. It has the same effects as any other element.
Void Void The Void Element (originally known as Matter) is a mystical element said to be created from the life-energy of its user, or from natural various forms of bioenergy from its surroundings, and channelled into a form of matter, hence the name. Hunter's hit by a Void element attack gain Voidblight, a status that disables all armour and food skills for its duration. Hunter's will lose any effects they got from those skills while Voidblight is in effect. Severe Voidblight will keep any negative skills, and Extreme Voidblight will completely remove food skills and all armour skills will change to negative versions or be disabled and negative skills are changed to their more severe versions. Void Element can be transferred to a weapon. It has the same effects as any other element.
