Ferogul is a large Wyvern that makes its first appearance in Monster Hunter Odyssey
Physiology[]
Ferogul is a hulking beast with muscular wings and jaws. Its body is covered in scaly, dark purple hide. Its head is of vivid crimson color and features a skull-like pattern. The wyvern's back is covered in silver fur. It has broad jaws adorned with several scutes and equipped with 48 razor-sharp fangs. Atop its skull, there are two horns used for intimidating and battling rivals. Its most notable feature are the massive claws that grow on its primitive wings and are sharp enough to slice open the thickest hides. Its tail ends in a club covered in sharp spines used for defense. On its wrist, Ferogul possesses an extendable claw.
Behavior[]
Ferogul is extraordinarily aggressive towards anyone and anything that crosses its path. It will not shy away from a fight, not even if severely wounded or without any realistic chance of winning. This is due to the sheer amount of hormones the Ferogul's body produces daily, which makes the wyvern fearless, reckless and extremely hostile.
Ecological Information[]
Placement in Food Chain[]
Ferogul is an invasive species and thus does not have a set place in any food chain. However, it is quick to conquer any territory and will feed on most creatures it can find. Everything, from a Kelbi Carcass to a living Rathalos is considered prey by Ferogul. Only Elder Dragons and monsters with similar levels of power to them are able to pose a threat to this monster.
Behavior towards other Monsters[]
Ferogul is highly aggressive and will attack anything that dares to go near it. It will not tolerate anything in its territory, outside of its young, attacking relentlessly when approached. This is due to its overproduction of adrenaline.
Tracks[]
Ferogul leaves behind a variety of tracks like large footprints on the ground and claw marks on walls and trees. Other tracks include bones and carcasses.
Specific Locale Interactions[]
Ferogul does not have any specific locale interactions
Special Behaviors[]
Ferogul can sometimes be observed sharpening its claws on rocks.
Abilities[]
Ferogul has extremely muscular jaws and sharp claws, both of which can tear through its foes with ease. It can also make use of the rare Dragon Element by converting the testosterone in its body to said energy through a special organ. Ferogul is warm-blooded, which, combined with its use of hormones and near-constant fighting, forces it to eat up to 2 tons of meat every day. When heavily injured, Ferogul is able to enter a state known as "Boiling Blood". In this state, the Ferogul's muscles will harden, it will become faster and more aggressive and deal more damage with its already devastating attacks.
Rage and Tired States[]
- Enraged: When enraged, Ferogul will attack more quickly and gain access to a handful of new attacks. Similar to Tigrex, steam will emit from its mouth and veins will pulse on its wings.
- Tired: When tired, Ferogul will attack slightly more slowly and loose its elemental abilities.
- Boiling Blood: The fur on Ferogul's back will rise and its eyes will leave red trails, similar to those of Nargacuga. It will enter this state once enough damage is dealt in its enraged state. It gains access to new attacks and moves faster.
Mounts[]
Ferogul can be mounted on its back, head and tail. It shares its mount animations with other pseudowyverns like Tigrex.
In-Game Description[]
Other Non-Subspecies Forms[]
Berserker Ferogul[]
Berserker Ferogul is a Variant of Ferogul. Born with a genetic defect, these individuals produce twice as many hormones as other specimen and are thus even more aggressive and ferocious.
Fearmonger Ferogul[]
Fearmonger Ferogul is a Deviant of Ferogul. A Fearmonger Ferogul is a fully grown Ferogul that has reached the end of its life cycle. Their adrenaline production has increased sevenfold since birth and they are considered one of the most dangerous creatures to roam the planet.

Name Meaning: Conqueror's Tyrant Claw
Habitat Range[]
Ferogul have been sighted all over the Forgotten Archipelago, as they are an invasive species. Some have also been observed travelling to the New World.
Ecological Niche[]
Like Deviljho and Bazelgeuse, Ferogul can compete with and even surpass the Apex predators of whatever area it finds itself in. The only monsters able to take on this beast are Elder Dragons and monsters that are on par with them in terms of sheer power. Ferogul is often covered in gashes and scars, collected during previous battles.
Biological Adaptations[]
Rightfully considered “the perfect predator” by some, the Ferogul is a living force of nature. Equipped with two rows of razor-sharp fangs and brutal claws to match, this Flying Wyvern will shred through prey like a hot knife through butter. Additionally, its ability to weaken its foe’s elemental capabilities through the use of the Dragon Element makes Ferogul one of the most vicious predators known to man. As to prevent overpopulation, Ferogul's body prevents itself from aging past sexual maturity. Males often die after mating due to an overbearing release of adrenaline and testosterone. Those that do not sometimes grow to full maturity. Fully grown males are known as "Fearmongers" and are extremely rare.
Behavior[]
Like Deviljho and Bazelgeuse, Ferogul travels the continents in constant search of food. It will take on anything that crosses its path, be it a normal monster or even an Elder Dragon. However, something that one may not expect at first sight is how this monster raises its young. Ferogul are very caring parents that will give their lives for their offspring, which is unusual when compared to their ordinary behavior.
