Physiology[]

Eumurikos is a giant Snake Wyvern which resembles an anaconda, having a large and bulky body, a head narrower than its body and several large spots across its body. Eumurikos also possesses two large arms with large claws which it can use to dig into the ground or to throw large rocks towards foes. Eumurikos has large scutes on its arms and smaller scutes around its eyes which protect those parts. Its back is lined with thick shelling while its sides are covered in overlapping scales, like those found on rattlesnakes like the sidewinder rattlesnake. Its belly is made out of a flexible yet tough hide which allows it to move around easily. At the tip of its tail, it has a rattle like those found on rattlesnakes. The upper part of Eumurikos' body is a dark brown in color, while the lower parts of its body is a light brown. The spots on its body are a darker brown, nearly black, in color compared to the brown of the upper part of its body. However, most of the time Eumurikos can be found covered in large quantities of mud like Barroth and Jyuratodus.

Behavior[]

Eumurikos are very large and aggressive Snake Wyverns which will often ambush their prey from the ground or by encasing them in large amounts of mud. Eumurikos is known to have a fierce rivalry with Barroth and Jyuratodus.

Ecological Information[]

Placement in Food Chain[]

Eumurikos have been observed to occupy a position high in the food chain due to their incredible size accompanied with their large amount of physical strength. They're easily capable of feeding on small monsters and even some large monsters can fall prey to this large Snake Wyvern. It's thought even some rather strong monsters have to be careful around this large and strong Snake Wyvern. Eumurikos do have to compete with many capable competitors, but face predation from powerful monsters and Elder Dragons, however it won't be easy pickings for these monsters.

Behavior towards Other Monsters[]

Eumurikos will attack small monsters if they come too close to the large Snake Wyvern or decide to provoke it. Weaker large monsters are however prone to getting attacked by the large Snake Wyvern even if they don't come too close. Other large monsters will be attacked if they decide to provoke the Eumurikos. Eumurikos will only run away from powerful monsters and Elder Dragons.

Tracks[]

Eumurikos can leave behind several kinds of tracks for hunters to utilize in tracking it down. These tracks include "Muddy Slithering Prints", which can be found on the ground, "Large Mud Globs", which can be found on the ground or on walls, "Large Brown Scales", which can be found on the ground, "Large Muddy Claw Marks", which can be found on the ground or on walls, and "Muddy Scute Fragments", which can be found on the ground.

Specific Locale Interactions[]

Eumurikos doesn't have any specific locale interactions.

Special Behaviors[]

Eumurikos doesn't have any special behaviors.

Cutscenes[]

Hunt Cutscene[]

  • Location: Dunes (Day)
  • Synopsis: As the hunter enters Area 7 of the Dunes, they notice out of the ordinary besides the absence of small monsters. As the hunter slowly walks towards the middle of the area. The hunter then suddenly feels that the ground starts shaking beneath the hunter. Suddenly, a large Snake Wyvern comes out of the ground and quickly goes towards the hunter. The hunter barely manages to avoid the large Snake Wyvern hitting them. As the hunter looks back, the Snake Wyvern turns towards them and throws mud towards the hunter. The hunter leaps out of the way and looks back at the now-revealed Snake Wyvern. They realize it's the Eumurikos they have to hunt. The Eumurikos roars; starting the hunt.

Ecology Cutscene[]

  • Location: Wildspire Waste
  • Synopsis: The cutscene begins by showing a bunch of Apceros in Area 4 of the Wildspire Waste, slowly grazing around. While the Apceros are minding their own business, something large is lying in the background in the mud. Suddenly, the Apceros seem to take notice of something large entering the area and they get into their defense formation. The camera pans and reveals it to be a Jyuratodus which is swimming towards the Apceros. The large thing in the background then suddenly slowly starts to move and seems to disappear under the mud. Meanwhile, the Jyuratodus starts to circle the Apceros which are roaring and growling at the Piscine Wyvern. The Jyuratodus then starts circling faster before suddenly leaping out towards the Apceros as the cutscene slows down. Suddenly, the massive object that was in the background leaps out of the ground and rams into the side of the Jyuratodus, knocking it away. The Apceros quickly run away as the camera reveals the large object to be an Eumurikos. The Jyuratodus quickly gets back up and looks at the much larger monster. The Eumurikos roars at the Jyuratodus which tries to retaliate, but the Eumurikos quickly slams its tail into it before it can. The Jyuratodus decides it has no choice but to get away and thus decides to swim away quickly. The Eumurikos then goes back into the mud as the cutscene ends.

Abilities[]

Eumurikos is a large Snake Wyvern which is capable of burrowing into the ground and covering itself in large quantities of mud similar to Barroth or Jyuratodus which not only cools it off in the hot desert, but it's is also capable of using this mud to trap its prey or foes. Eumurikos is also capable of utilizing its large arms to rip large rocks out of the ground and throw them towards foes.

Rage and Tired States[]

  • Rage State: When Eumurikos becomes enraged, it will start huffing out blackish smoke and its eyes will turn into an yellow-orangish color.
  • Tired State: When Eumurikos becomes tired, it will start drooling and it will fall over after doing some of its attacks.

Frenzy, Apex, Hyper and Tempered[]

Eumurikos is capable of getting infected by the Frenzy Virus and thus become Frenzied, but there's no confirmation of them being able to attain the Apex State. Eumurikos are also capable of attaining the Hyper and Tempered States.

Frenzied Eumurikos have the usual changes of a Frenzied monster, but can also cause Frenzy with the mud they throw around.

Tempered Eumurikos are considered Threat Lv2 Tempered Monsters and have the usual changes of a Tempered monster.

Hyper Eumurikos have the usual changes of a Hyper monster.

Mounts[]

Eumurikos has a mount animation which resembles that of Najarala, but Eumurikos seems much more violent in its movements. It can be mounted on its head, back and tail.

When Eumurikos is mounted on its head, the hunter will either be located on top of the Eumurikos' head or on either side of its head. The Eumurikos will try to get hunters off by violently shaking its head around, by slithering around and by slamming the side of its head into walls or the ground.

When Eumurikos is mounted on its back, the hunter will be located somewhere from the neck to just past the middle of the Eumurikos' body and will either be located on top of the Eumurikos' back or on either side of its body. The Eumurikos will try to get hunters off by shaking its body, by slithering around and by slamming the side of its body into walls.

When Eumurikos is mounted on its tail, the hunter will be located somewhere from the base of the tail to the tip of the tail and will be located on top of the tail. The Eumurikos will try to get hunters off by violently shaking its tail around, by slithering around and by slamming its tail into walls or the ground.

Name Meaning: Arid Mud Snake

Eumurikos is a large member of the Snake Wyvern class which includes the likes of Aglunastos and Najarala. Eumurikos inhabits several large deserts where it is known to have a rivalry with both Barroth and Jyuratodus.

Habitat Range[]

Eumurikos have been found inhabiting a wide range of deserts which include the Sandy Plains, Desert, Dunes, Wildspire Waste, Cracked Canyon, Dusty Badlands, Twistspire Desert and Ancient Outback. It is also known to migrate to the Deserted Island during serious droughts.

Ecological Niche[]

Eumurikos are high up in the food chain due to their large size and power. This allows them to prey on small monsters like Aptonoth, Delex, Baggi, Bullfango, Cephalos and Genprey. It's also known to take down larger monsters like Cephadrome, Gendrome, Daimyo Hermitaur and Desert Seltas. It is theorized that it will even occasionally take down monsters as large and powerful as Rathian, Shrouded Nerscylla and Tigerstripe Zamtrios.

Eumurikos have plenty of large and powerful competitors in their habitats which include the likes of Diablos, Sand Barioth, Akura Vashimu, Baruragaru, Glavenus, Gureadomosu and plenty of other large and strong monsters.

Despite the Eumurikos' large size and power, it still gets predated upon by large and powerful monsters like Elder Dragon-level monsters, like Odibatorasu and Deviljho, powerful Deviants, like Bloodbath Diablos and Hellblade Glavenus, and the occasional Elder Dragon. But, thanks to the Eumurikos' large size and strength, it will make sure it won't go down without putting up a fight.

Biological Adaptations[]

Eumurikos is a very large Snake Wyvern, being even larger and longer than most other Snake Wyverns like Najarala, Agsolestea and Aglunastos. This size comes with a large amount of physical strength which the Eumurikos is capable of using in combination with its large and powerful clawed arms to rip out large rocks out of the ground and throw them towards foes. Eumurikos is also capable of using these large arms to dig through the ground which it can use to ambush foe or prey. Eumurikos are also capable of covering themselves in large amounts of mud like Barroth and Jyuratodus. They are capable of throwing this mud around to trap foes or prey.

Behavior[]

Eumurikos are very aggressive and territorial and will often attack large monsters that dare to enter its territory. Otherwise, it will rest in large quantities of mud or underground and will allow small monsters to traverse around in its territory. Eumurikos is known to have a fierce rivalry with Jyuratodus and Barroth which seems to come from Eumurikos' tendency to take control of the muddy areas while the other two attack the Eumurikos' young.

Interactions with Other Monsters[]

Low Tier Large Monsters[]

  • Eumurikos versus Great Jaggi: Eumurikos and Great Jaggi start by roaring at each other after which the Great Jaggi lunges at the Eumurikos and latches on while biting. The Eumurikos is flailing about while the Great Jaggi keeps biting the Eumurikos, but only dealing rather low damage. The Eumurikos then manages to get the Great Jaggi thrown off, dealing low damage to the Great Jaggi which is also on the ground now. The Eumurikos then quickly digs into the ground and bursts out of the ground under the Great Jaggi, knocking it into the air before it crashes back down, dealing a rather moderate amount of damage. The turf war finishes with the Eumurikos hissing towards the Great Jaggi which gets up and leaves the area.
  • Eumurikos versus Cephadrome: The two monsters begin by roaring at each other after which the Cephadrome quickly goes into the sand and swims towards the Eumurikos. The Eumurikos roars at the Cephadrome which leaps out of the sand and rams itself into the Eumurikos, dealing some moderate damage due to the Eumurikos managing to partially move out of the way. The Eumurikos then quickly grabs the Cephadrome with part of its tail and starts slowly constricting it with a larger portion of its tail and body, dealing a moderate amount of damage. The Eumurikos will then toss the Cephadrome away, dealing some moderate damage. The turf war finishes with the Eumurikos hissing at the Cephadrome which gets into the sand and quickly leaves the area.
  • Eumurikos versus Daimyo Hermitaur: Eumurikos begins by hissing at the Daimyo Hermitaur while the Daimyo Hermitaur screeches. The Daimyo Hermitaur then burrows into the ground while the Eumurikos is looking around, trying to locate the Daimyo Hermitaur. The Daimyo Hermitaur then suddenly bursts out of the ground from under the Eumurikos, launching the Eumurikos back and dealing rather moderate damage. The Eumurikos however manages to quickly recover and throws large globs of mud at the Daimyo Hermitaur, dealing low damage, but also seemingly ensnaring the Carapaceon. The Eumurikos then quickly slithers towards the Daimyo Hermitaur and slams one of its claws into it, knocking the Daimyo Hermitaur away out of the mud and dealing quite a moderate amount of damage. The turf war ends with the Eumurikos roaring at the Daimyo Hermitaur and the Carapaceon running away after getting back up.
