Physiology
Auralracan is a gigantic scorpion which largely resembles a deathstalker scorpion. The main difference however, besides its immense size, is the gold covering a large portion of its body. This makes several parts of its body seem larger than they actually are, like its tail, pincers and legs. Its tail is also shaped like a large spear instead of standard scorpion stinger and has several gold spikes surrounding it. It has eyes shaped like its relative Cavornia and thus the Akuras and they are royal purple in terms of color. In between the gold covering its body and on its sides, the true color of Auralracan's body can be seen which is maroon red.
Behavior
Auralracan is an aggressive Temnoceran which has been known to traverse the Caverns of El Dorado. It's known to compete with Kulve Taroth in these regions and is thought by some to in fact prey on the Elder Dragon, but this has yet to be confirmed.
Ecological Information
Placement in Food Chain
Auralracan are massive Temnocerans which are thought to be at the top of the food chain due to their immense size and strength, combined with their powerful abilities. They're thought to be primarily carnivourous, feeding on monsters that come close to the Caverns of El Dorado where it competes with Kulve Taroth. Some theorize it preys upon Kulve Taroth, but the more widely accepted theory is that Auralracan prey upon the juveniles of Kulve Taroth.
Behavior towards Other Monsters
Auralracan is thought to very aggressive to any other monster it meets, excluding individuals of its kind, but even this is uncertain. But, due to them having only been located in the Caverns of El Dorado so far, not much is known about their behavior to other monsters.
Tracks
Auralracan can leave behind a variety of tracks for hunters to utilize during the Siege. These tracks include "Massive Paired Prints", which can be found on the ground, "Golden Fragments", which can be found on the ground or on walls, "Immense Claw Marks", which can be found on the ground or on walls, and "Heavy Maroon Shells", which can be found on the ground.
Specific Locale Interactions
During the Siege against it, Auralracan is capable of breaking through specific parts of the area while making its way through, like Kulve Taroth. It can also dig into parts of the area and reappear in another part.
Special Behaviors
Auralracan has no special behaviors.
Cutscene
Hunt Cutscene
- Location: Caverns of El Dorado
- Synopsis: The cutscene begins by showing sections of the Caverns of El Dorado, similarly to Kulve Taroth's cutscene. The screen then shows a large raised spear-like tail go behind a bunch of debris. Afterwards, the cutscene jumps to show the hunter arriving in the area. As they're preparing themselves, something suddenly breaks through the wall behind and it's revealed to be the Auralracan. The Auralracan roars as it makes its way forwards, the hunter quickly getting out of the way and watching the Auralracan going forwards a short bit, before deciding to go after it, marking the beginning of the Siege.
Ecology Cutscene
Auralracan doesn't have an ecology cutscene.
Abilities
Auralracan are gigantic Temnocerans which have bodies covered with gold. Their immense size allows their physical attacks to have immense power behind them, easily knocking hunters around. This strength also allows them to easily break through parts of the Caverns of El Dorado. Auralracan are also capable of using their large claws to dig into the ground. The gold on their claws seems to be more powdery, being released in the form of a golden dust. Auralracan are also capable of spewing out a very hot liquid which seems like magma, melting the gold in parts of the Caverns of El Dorado in a similar fashion to Kulve Taroth. Finally, the gold on an Auralracan's tail seems magnetized as getting hit by it magnetizes a hunter and makes them to susceptible to more magnetic attacks from the giant Temnoceran. The stinger of an Auralracan is a large spear-like shape and seems to be equally magnetically charged as other sections of the tail, but instead it'll cause them to be affected by chunks of magnetically charged gold.
Rage and Tired States
- Rage State: When Auralracan becomes enraged, its eyes will turn closer to a red color and it will huff out black fiery smoke. The Auralracan's actual body will also have orange-glowing markings on it which signifies the fact it will start to become more extreme with the magma it spits out.
- Tired State: Auralracan cannot become tired.
Frenzy, Apex, Hyper and Tempered
Auralracan cannot be affected by the Frenzy Virus and thus cannot become Frenzied or attain the Apex State. They're also not capable of attaining the Hyper State, but they've been found in the Tempered State.
Tempered Auralracan are only capable of being fought during a special event. This Auralracan is much more powerful, boasting more health and power, and also attacks faster. However, during this quest way more Gajalakas in the Caverns of El Dorado will help hunters against the Auralracan and also for a longer period of time.
Mounts
Due to the Auralracan's immense size, it can be mounted in several places across its body. These include its head, its body, its legs and its tail.
Whenever Auralracan is mounted on its head, the hunter will either be located on top of the Auralracan's head or hanging from either side of it. The Auralracan will try to get hunters off by violently shaking its head around, by running around and by slamming the side of its head into walls.
Whenever Auralracan is mounted on its body, the hunter will be located on the back of the Auralracan. The Auralracan will try to get hunters off by shaking its body, by running around and by slamming the side of its body into walls.
Whenever Auralracan is mounted on its legs, the hunter will either be located on top of the Auralracan's legs or hanging from either side of them. The Auralracan will try to get hunters off by violently shaking its legs around, by stomping with its legs, by running around and by slamming the side of its body into walls.
Whenever Auralracan is mounted on its tail, the hunter will be located high-up near to the Auralracan's stinger. The Auralracan will try to get hunters off by violently shaking its tail around, by running around and by slamming its tail into the ground or into walls.

Name Meaning: Undying Gold Scorpion
Auralracan is a gigantic species of Temnoceran which has been found traversing the Caverns of El Dorado where it competes with Kulve Taroth. It's known as a distant relative of Cavornia.
Habitat Range
Auralracan have only been found inhabiting the Caverns of El Dorado in the New World so far.
Ecological Niche
Auralracan's position in the food chain is still unknown, but it's thought that due to its immense size and strength, combined with their powerful abilities, allows them to be at the very top like Elder Dragons. They're thought to take down whatever comes near to the Caverns of El Dorado and are also theorized to prey upon the juveniles of Kulve Taroth with which it competes in the Caverns of El Dorado.
Biological Adaptations
Like Kulve Taroth, Auralracan cover their body in large amounts of shiny material, which in the case of the Temnoceran seems to be actual gold. This gold seems to serve as an armor to the Auralracan, but despite that, the actual shell on an Auralracan's body is also incredibly hard and durable. Furthermore like Kulve Taroth, it's of immense size, being easily one of the largest Temnocerans known to the Guild and Research Commission. This size grants it immense physical strength which it can use to make its way through parts of the Caverns of El Dorado or easily dig into the ground when combined with its large claws. Auralracan are also capable of spewing out magma that can quite easily melt the metal in the Caverns of El Dorado. The gold on its claws seems to be more powdery as the Auralracan is capable of releasing clouds of golden dust from them. Meanwhile, the gold on its tail seems to be magnetically charged as getting hit by parts of it can get one magnetically charged, making them susceptible to being drawn towards the giant Temnoceran. The gold-covered stinger of an Auralracan is a spear-like shape, which allows it to easily pierce through the shells and scales of other monsters, and seems to also be magnetically charged, but will instead cause magnetically charged pieces of gold to affect one.
Behavior
Auralracan are considered highly aggressive and will seemingly attack other monsters on sight, the opposite of Kulve Taroth which will only attack once it has been excessively provoked. But, it's thought that Kulve Taroth will attack Auralracan even when not provoked which has sparked the theory that the two have a rivalry with each other. This goes alongside the theory that Auralracan prey upon the young of Kulve Taroth.
Interactions with Other Monsters
Auralracan doesn't have any interactions with other monsters, due to it never being hunted with other monsters.
